The Department offers three-year graduate and four-semester post-graduate courses in Commerce, as also Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) and B.Com. Computer Application (B.Com. CA) The Department is equipped with a separate computer laboratory. Career-oriented add-on courses offered by the department include E-Commerce, Banking and Financial Practices and Tourism and Travel Management.
            The Department of Commerce is an approved research centre affiliated to the University of Kerala. The Centre admits Ph.D. students either on a full-time or on part-time basis. The Centre has every facility to conduct systematic studies in related areas of commerce, like Banking, Marketing, Insurance and Financial Management. Dr. P.C. Thomas, the Head of the Department, is the Director of the centre, with four registered guides.
